Wild Animal Report
Make a web page using HTML codes
in a text editor (Notepad).
Part I
- Think of some different wild animals that you know a lot about.
- Pick one of these wild animals to write about. You will not use the Internet
for the writing. Only write things that you already know.
- In Notepad, write
an interesting paragraph
about this wild animal.
- Hints...
- Imagine that the person who will read your page has never heard
of this animal.
- Where does this animal live?
- What are the features or
traits of this animal? (Be specific.)
- What is unique about this
animal?
- Write anything else you can
think of about this wild animal.
- The paragraph must be at
least five complete sentences.
- Save - Save it as [date]animal[hour][your
username].htm (hint)
in your html folder.
- HTML - Transform your paragraph into an HTML page by adding
the basic tags.
- Title -
For the title bar,
make it say the kind of wild animal, example: Crickets.
- Ready - Maximize the web page in the browser, and
THEN also maximize the web page in the text editor.
- Check - Raise your hand. Politely ask
your teacher to take a look at it.
Part II
- Heading - In the body,
write a heading that is centered and heading style 1.
- Line 1 - Make a horizontal rule
under the heading.
- Line 2 - Draw a horizontal rule
under the paragraph.
- Local Links - Link to all the
web pages you made this year in class.
- Search Links - Link to Google and Yahoo.
- Animal Links - Link to three
web sites with
information on your animal. (Hint: Use Google to
find good web sites.)
- Photos - Insert three photos of
your animal in the wild. (Hint:
Use Google's
Image Search.)
- Body Colors -
Color the background and the text. (Hint: Add codes to your first
BODY tag.)
- Formatting - In your paragraph,
make 3 places bold,
3 places italic,
and 3 places underlined. (They may not touch each other.)
- Word Colors - In the paragraph,
change the font color in nine different
places: 3 blue, 3
green, and 3 red. (They may
not touch each other.)
- Ready - Maximize the web page in the browser, and
THEN also maximize the web page in the text editor.
- Check - Raise your hand. Politely ask your teacher
to take a look at it.
Part III
- Color - Change the color
of at least five (5) more words to make your page more interesting to read.
- Photos - Add at least three (3) more pictures
of this wild animal.
- Sizes - If any picture is large, make
it smaller, between 300 and 500 pixels wide.
- Links - Add more links to at least three
(3) more web sites about this wild animal.
- Paragraph - Add at least one more paragraph
about your wild animal.
- Ready - Maximize the web page in the browser, and THEN also maximize
the web page in the text editor.
- Check - Raise your hand. Politely ask your teacher
to take a look at it.
