Wild Animal Report

Make a web page using HTML codes in a text editor (Notepad).

Part I

  1. Think of some different wild animals that you know a lot about.
  2. Pick one of these wild animals to write about. You will not use the Internet for the writing. Only write things that you already know.
  3. In Notepad, write an interesting paragraph about this wild animal.
  4. Save - Save it as [date]animal[hour][your username].htm (hint) in your html folder.
  5. HTML - Transform your paragraph into an HTML page by adding the basic tags.
  6. Title - For the title bar, make it say the kind of wild animal, example: Crickets.
  7. Ready - Maximize the web page in the browser, and THEN also maximize the web page in the text editor.
  8. Check - Raise your hand. Politely ask your teacher to take a look at it.

Part II

  1. Heading - In the body, write a heading that is centered and heading style 1.
  2. Line 1 - Make a horizontal rule under the heading.
  3. Line 2 - Draw a horizontal rule under the paragraph.
  4. Local Links - Link to all the web pages you made this year in class.
  5. Search Links - Link to Google and Yahoo.
  6. Animal Links - Link to three web sites with information on your animal.  (Hint: Use Google to find good web sites.)
  7. Photos - Insert three photos of your animal in the wild.  (Hint: Use Google's Image Search.)
  8. Body Colors - Color the background and the text.  (Hint: Add codes to your first BODY tag.)
  9. Formatting - In your paragraph, make 3 places bold, 3 places italic, and 3 places underlined. (They may not touch each other.)
  10. Word Colors - In the paragraph, change the font color in nine different places:  3 blue, 3 green, and 3 red. (They may not touch each other.)
  11. Ready - Maximize the web page in the browser, and THEN also maximize the web page in the text editor.
  12. Check - Raise your hand. Politely ask your teacher to take a look at it.

Part III

  1. Color - Change the color of at least five (5) more words to make your page more interesting to read.
  2. Photos - Add at least three (3) more pictures of this wild animal.
  3. Sizes - If any picture is large, make it smaller, between 300 and 500 pixels wide.
  4. Links - Add more links to at least three (3) more web sites about this wild animal.
  5. Paragraph - Add at least one more paragraph about your wild animal.
  6. Ready - Maximize the web page in the browser, and THEN also maximize the web page in the text editor.
