    Manga is a form of comic books. What is unusual about reading manga is that it is backwards; depending on if it is a Japanese comic, otherwise it will be left to right. Most of the time the manga will be black and white, but depending on who made the comic it might be in color. The translation process for manga from Japan is difficult to get right as well so the people may get some words wrong.

            Reading manga is fun yet sometimes very confusing since it is backwards most of the time. Not only do the pages go backwards but so do the panels. To read the panels, start at the top, go left and then go back to the other side and keep going left. If there is a panel that takes up a whole section just read where it’s top starts. So if it’s top is at the top of the page then start up there at the right and go left and then read down the panel and go back up to the next column.

            Sometimes manga is made as a copy from a show but mostly a show is made from the manga. The creators often make comics related to anime type drawings. Many of the manga has been brought into America and translated from Japanese to English or which ever language is at that area. Sometimes due to violent content people often cut out some of the manga when being turned into a TV show or movie.  Also many of times people get the translations wrong in the process of making not only the movie but also the English version.

            Trying to pronounce the words are also hard to do. Many times the translators for the manga get the words or names wrong, because they might be similar to other words. So when that happens, it gets confusing to try and read the words or names, so just try to sound out the word. Also the Japanese use Japanese names that are hard to say, or read due to odd spelling.

            Manga has many parts that make it difficult to read, weather the translation is wrong or people just don’t get how to read it backwards. Getting to know the different captions is confusing for most people also. To make it easier many people like to just watch the TV show if it’s out instead of reading it. So there is two ways of understanding manga, either read it or watch it on TV if it is an option.
