Michigan Softball is one of the best college softball teams in the nation.  The staff of the Michigan Softball team is outstanding. Also the players in the last four years have been phenomenal. They have had great success in the last four years. Michigan softball is one of the greatest softball teams in Michigan .

The staff at Michigan has been outstanding the last four years. The head coach for the Wolverines is Carol Hutchens, her nickname is Hutch. She played at the Michigan State University . The assistant head coach is Bonnie Tholl. She has been working for Hutch for a long time and knows a lot about softball. The assistant coach is Jennifer Brundage. She played on the U.S.A softball team in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. At those Olympics they won a gold medal. These coaches are very knowledgeable with softball and are great coaches.

  The players in the last four years have been a wonderful thing to Michigan Softball. In 2002 they had the pitcher Marissa Young. She was one of the top pitchers in the NCAA softball league. They also had mighty fine third base and a strong hitter Stephanie Volpe. Then in 2003 they had Marissa Young and the sophomore shortstop Jessie Merchant that made almost every play and was a strong hitter. They also had a great centerfielder Megan Doe. Then in 2004 they had Jessie Merchant still that made the home run record. They now had the pitcher Nicole Motyka. Now in 2005 they recruited a lot of strong freshmen and the have there pitcher, shortstop, second basemen, catcher back so they’ll be hard to beat.

  When they had these outstanding teams they had a lot of great success. In 2002 they were Big Ten Champions and they made it to the World Series but they fell short of the title. In 2003 they fell short of the Big Ten Title and they didn’t have the strength to make it to the World Series. In 2004 once again they were Big Ten Champions and qualified for the World Series once again but lost the first two games so they couldn’t win the title. Now in 2005 they are really strong so people say that they are probably going to win many titles and hopefully make it to the World Series once again.

  Michigan Softball is a very difficult team, so in this year 2005 all of you Big Ten teams looking for the title you better watch out.
